Buildings and contents insurance

5* rated Home Insurance cover

What is buildings and contents insurance?

Buildings and contents insurance is a type of insurance policy that covers the cost of repairing or rebuilding your home and replacing your possessions in the event of damage or loss.

Buildings insurance covers the physical structure of your home, including the walls, roof, floors, and permanent fixtures like fitted kitchens and bathrooms.

It also covers any outbuildings or structures on your property, such as garages or sheds. In the event of damage or loss caused by perils like fire, storm, or flood, your buildings insurance policy would provide funds to repair or rebuild your home and any other structures covered under the policy.

Contents insurance, on the other hand, covers the personal possessions inside your home, including furniture, clothing, electronics, and other valuable items. In the event of damage or loss caused by perils like theft, fire, or flood, your contents insurance policy would provide funds to replace or repair your belongings.

Some insurance providers offer combined buildings and contents insurance policies, which cover both the physical structure of your home and your personal possessions. This type of policy can be a cost-effective way to ensure comprehensive protection for your home and belongings.
